The Problem
The two new e-procurement programs (described on previous pages) needed to be
quickly deployed to meet expense reduction and other corporate objectives.
However, client resources with the necessary Process Design and Project Management
expertise were not available.
The Solution
PCG was engaged to manage the implementation of the new program, reporting to a
Client Executive. Following a small investment of Executive time, during
which the overall approach to the project was agreed to, PCG proceeded to
develop a detailed plan for approval.
Where client resource limitations required it, process design tasks (such as procurement authorities and approval structures) were completed by PCG. Following client approval, a controlled, but rapid, test and roll-out was successfully implemented.
The Results
Year-end implementation milestones were met for both new programs. Internal
users were delighted with the service improvements. The financial benefits
made possible be an early start-up of the program more than offset the cost
of PCG Project Management and Process Design.
